NPT RESEARCH / PRIVACY & IP
Intellectual Property, Licensing & Patent Rights
Nil Prithibi Technology Private Limited · Version 2026-10-26-legal-review-2
Existing IP
Each party retains its pre-existing software, methods, templates, designs and know-how. A project fee alone does not silently transfer reusable background intellectual property or third-party licensed components.
Developed deliverables
The SOW/IP schedule must expressly identify newly developed assets, ownership or licence, transfer conditions, permitted reproduction, modification and downstream use, exclusions, source-code rights and third-party obligations.
Inventorship and publication
Patent inventorship is determined by law, not marketing terms. NPT Research and its corporate operator do not describe themselves as registered patent agents: Section 129 of the Patents Act, 1970 restricts practice and corporate holding-out. Statutory patent-agent drafting, filing, representation and prosecution must be handled only through an appropriately registered individual patent agent or another legally permitted route. Technical prior-art and engineering research must not be advertised as regulated representation. Filing responsibilities, ownership, manuscript authorship, confidentiality before publication and portfolio permissions need separately reviewed agreements.
No implicit showcase rights
Client name, source geometry, CAD, plots, experimental results, patent citations and GLB assets remain private unless independently approved for the particular public use.
